„The cuisine is beyond reproach ... finally FOOD again instead of just something to admire.”

Sitzwohl
The award-winning restaurant in Innsbruck city center

A symbiosis of traditional home-style cooking and Mediterranean cuisine

The octopus Gröstl. It could be their signature dish, as it embodies what their cuisine stands for: Austrian home-style cooking and Mediterranean cuisine. Award-winning chef Elisabeth Geisler and her passionate team lovingly and honestly prepare the best from local pastures, meadows, and rivers. They combine it with fine Italian and Iberian delicacies. The result is creative yet down-to-earth dishes such as veal shank ravioli with pointed cabbage, zander fillet on lovage carbonara, or pigeon polpette with figs and potato noodles.

Knocking at the kitchen door …

Down-to-earth? No — you certainly won’t find any pretentiousness at this award-winning restaurant in Innsbruck. “We are happy about our guests, but we also honestly admit that we are primarily focused on our work in the kitchen. Fortunately, our guests know this already — they knock on the kitchen door and come visit us,” says host Elisabeth Geisler. Her aim is “to delight people with pots and pans.” With the best ingredients, prepared with care, imagination, and creativity. Never pretentious, always grounded. This is also reflected in the service and atmosphere: warm, friendly, and unobtrusive. Not staged or artificial. A place where body and soul can linger in comfort, where the hustle and bustle of everyday life fades away.
